About Contract Matters

Are your Contracts working for you?

Contract Matters Ltd is about education of the business world in respect to the contractual process and the world of contracts.  Margaret assists in the complex contract world by looking at the ‘whole of life’ contract world and  we assists her clients with being able to be ready for the contractual process and to look forward strategically.

Contract Matters is now into its seventh year and has clients – both large and small – in the Government Sector, Local Government Sector and Private Industry.  We look after the big and the small – both buyers and suppliers to ensure that the contractual relationships entered into are supported by a contract that provides for clarity and conciseness.

Margaret Gilbert is Director of Contract Matters Ltd and Corporate Contacts Management Ltd and she operates both in New Zealand and overseas.  We writes articles, speaks to different groups and provide individual training, group training courses and workshops. We also provides consulting services within Corporate Contacts Management Ltd.

In addition, Margaret has a total of 21 years experience  in the contract/procurement area and has worked in Australia and the United States of America. She has experience in all aspects of the business world.

Book-suppliers-Cover.jpgThe three core areas of business are: (a) consultancy, (b) training and (c) selling of books in the Contract Matters series written by Margaret Gilbert.  Margaret works with both buyers and suppliers and assists in project management, training, assessment of need and how best to work within the contractual process.

Margaret has written three books: Contract Matters: A Practical Guide to the Contractual Process, Contract Matters: A Practical Guide for Suppliers and Contract Matters: Negotiation which are available in hard cover format.  She has written e-books such as Contract Matters: Contract Strategies/Strategic Contracts; Contract Matters: A Practical Guide for Buyers and Contract Matters: Contract Management.

In addition she has written e-books covering the contractual process internationally i.e. Contract Matters: A Practical Guide to the Contractual Process: Australia, Asia/India, Baltics, Canada, China & Mongolia, European Union, Eurpoen Union North, India & Pakistan, Scandinavia, South Africa, The Middle East, The Pacific Islands, Mexico, Russian Federation, Central and South America and Israel, United Kingdom, United States of America.

Buyers

Our services encompass the ‘whole of life’ contract process from RFP/Tender documentation through to evaluation, interview, negotiation, contract award and contract preparation.  We can provide input into any or all components.

In addition we can assist in respect to project management in areas such as: analysis, strategy of assessing current and future needs, as well as aligning of supplier base.

Suppliers

Our services can provide a comprehensive ‘whole of life’ component of the contract process.  We can provide input into the process from a contract manager’s perspective so the concept of the evaluation process and expectation of the interview process can be expanded on.

We can assist in providing advice on proposal preparation to RFPs/Tenders as well as providing an individualised proposal template.

In addition I can provide consulting services in negotiation and how to plan, strategise and undertake negotiations as well as providing guidance to achieve placing your required clauses into the contract.

Training

In addition we can also provide training for Organisations and Suppliers to further extend your abilities and knowledge surrounding the contract management process.
